From electrical services to energy supply

McKercher Corporation began on 22 November 2004 as McKercher ECS, the sole-trading electrical contracting entity of Derek McKercher. One licensed electrician, one van, and work won a job at a time.

The corporate structure was built around that work rather than in place of it. The Derek McKercher Family Trust was registered in July 2011 and the two entities traded alongside each other for four years before the original registration was retired in September 2015. Nothing was wound down and nothing restarted; the group has traded without a break since 2004.

Perth Solar Warehouse was registered as a business name in November 2014 and PSW Energy in October 2017, marking the move from energy services into energy supply and in-house delivery. In 2021 the group added intelligent systems, delivered today by McKercher Labs.
