Guidance current at 14 August 2026 states that AC-coupled Powerwall 3 configurations are not supported in any capacity. Two pathways remain: new solar wired directly to the integrated inverter, or migration of suitable existing PV onto it. Installer Bulletin: Powerwall 2 Recall Now Routes Replacements Through the Original Installer

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission updated recall PRA 2025/20611 for the Tesla Powerwall 2 on 12 August 2026. The notice now directs owners of affected systems to contact their original installer to schedule the free replacement, with Tesla support as the fallback. The affected units and the underlying hazard are unchanged.
